Nottinghamshire Police said the road will remain closed 'for some time'
A diversion route has been put in place after part of the A52 has been closed due to a 'serious' police incident. The road is closed in both directions between the Bingham turn off near Saxondale and the Grantham North/Barrowby turn off in Barrowby.
Road users travelling eastbound are advised to take the exit onto the A46 from the A52 Saxondale Island and continue north for 21.9km until the roundabout with the A1/A17. At the roundabout, take the A1 southbound exit and follow the A1 for 23.5km until the A52 junction at Barrowby.At the top of the slip road, rejoin the A52. If travelling westbound, from the A52 junction with the A1, take the northbound entry slip road for the A1 north and continue on the A1 for 23.5km.
A statement from Nottinghamshire Police reads: "Road closures are currently in place following a serious police incident on the A52 in Bingham. Please avoid the A52 Bingham Bypass, between Grantham Road and Tithby Road, which will remain closed for some time."
