A HUGE sinkhole has swallowed a residential road in Renfrew after a rising sewer main has burst.
It comes after residents reported Campbell Street has been closed at its junction with Ferry Road this morning.They revealed they are carrying out a complex repair on a burst 700mm rising sewer main.
The area has been made safe and the firm has confirmed they are mobilising plant and materials ahead of beginning the repair. However, they have said they"expect to encounter other services" including high-voltage cables and a water main near the sewer.
