The search for possible 'weapons' is expected to last across the weekend
Some residents have been advised to leave their homes as police begin a search for 'guns and grenades' in Salford. Greater Manchester Police said they have received intelligence regarding possible 'weapons' on Duchy Road playing fields near the Irlams o' th' Height area of the city.
Salford Council has been put on standby to assist any residents who do choose to leave. It's not yet known how many properties have been advised to evacuate.
