The Ayrshire club have played on an artificial surface since 2014 but plan to go back to grass in 2025/26.
Majority shareholder Billy Bowie is hoping work on the Ayrshire club's new training ground, Bowie Park, can begin this summer subject to planning approval. The new facility would include two full size training pitches, as well as a 250-seater stand and a training complex for Derek McInnes' squad. To be built between Kilmarnock and Crookedholm, the dedicated training base would allow Killie to switch back to grass during the 2025/26 campaign, according to BBC Scotland.
That will come as good news to their Scottish Premiership rivals, a number of whom have voiced their aversion to artificial surfaces. Killie have played on plastic since 2014, and installed a new, upgraded park before the 2019/20 season. Both Rangers and Celtic have already come a cropper at Rugby Park this season.
