Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses to come forward following the crash near Straiton.
The body of a biker was discovered nine hours after his mobile phone alerted police of a crash in South Ayrshire. Emergency services launched a search after the automated message reported a collision in the Cloyntie Toll Bridge area of Straiton at around 10.18pm last Wednesday. The body of Darrel Sturgeon, 21, and his red, blue and white Honda CBR600F were eventually recovered at 7.35am on Thursday by the B741.
