Sara and her partner Carl on a safari trip together Sara Young and her husband are the happiest they’ve ever been – but they have one controversial relationship practice that has led friends to call them ‘mad.’ It’s increasingly common for couples, particularly married couples, to sleep in separate beds. But Sara takes this one step further, noting that the pair even continue this trend whilst they’re on holiday.

Sara and her partner Carl have two children ‘That way, we can have a room each and look after a child each. He takes our toddler and I take our baby. ‘Our friends think we’re mad but it’s the best thing we’ve ever done.’ Sara isn’t alone. A new study of 2,000 Brits found that 29% are now choosing to sleep in separate beds from their partners, whilst 18% prefer to book separate rooms even on holiday.
