The new Nando's in New Brighton, Wirral, was unexpectedly busy on a Tuesday evening, contrary to the usual quietness of weekdays. Despite the long queues, the author and his son decided to wait for a table and enjoy the classic Nando's experience.
I remember always being told Mondays and Tuesdays were the quietest days for restaurants, so if you want a cheap deal and a guaranteed table, the start of the week is the time to go. So I was very surprised when I walked into the new Nando's in New Brighton , Wirral on a mild Tuesday evening. It was packed. Each weekend since it opened on February 6 I had toyed with the idea of popping in, but had seen the queues out of the door and thought better of it.
This time my son and I were told it would be a 20-minute wait, and after thinking about the delicious chicken the nation has come to love, we decided to wait. It is a classic Nando's - you know what you are getting, which is a comfort after a long day, but the New Brighton outlet is a little smaller than I imagined it would be
