Shoppers in a Nottinghamshire town are hopeful footfall will increase following the opening of a new value shop. B&M officially opened its doors in Arnold on Tuesday, February 21, taking over the former Wilko unit on Front Street.
"I quite like Arnold, my partner is from here. It's got everything and you also have the Asda and the Sainsbury's," she said. Another resident from Daybrook, who wished to remain anonymous, says she prefers to shop in Sherwood, however the AMP building in Arnold town centre, a new focal point in the town that hosts a number of independent businesses as part of the wider Arnold market improvements, has recently been piquing her interest. She said: "I like the independent shops in Sherwood a lot more than Arnold, but it's just a personal preference.
On Thursday , Gedling Borough Council announced that it is planning to create an enterprise centre at its AMP building, with £655,000 spent on the project. The centre will support businesses in Arnold
