Prue Leith is reportedly taking a break from her judging duties on The Great British Bake Off and has decided not to appear on the upcoming celebrity edition of the show
She's been a judge on The Great British Bake Off for seven years, but Prue Leith is now reportedly taking a break from the hit Channel 4 show. The 84 year old won't be appearing on the celebrity edition of GBBO this summer, according to reports.
A source said: “Prue absolutely loves working on Bake Off but filming two series a year can be punishing on top of her other commitments. She has already filmed the normal series, which will air this year but she will not appear on the celebrity version." A statement shared with OK! from Prue read: "I absolutely love working on Bake Off and am looking forward to filming the next series and meeting our new bakers, I am only stepping back from the Celebrity series, which is just a question of the filming commitment involved as we make these shows back to back."
The news comes after it was reported that GBBO had sparked a bidding war as its contract with Channel 4 comes to an end. The hit TV show could be set to be snapped up by a rival streaming service for a staggering £100,000,000.
