There's an all-new display this year
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Arndale - with the centre unveiling its decorations for this year’s festivities. The shopping centre has a new display this year, called ‘The Flight Before Christmas’.
Outside, there’s a statue of a leaping reindeer and a 26ft gold Christmas tree-shaped structure at the Exchange Square entrance. The pair will sit opposite the square’s Christmas Market stalls, which open today .READ MORE: How to get to Manchester Christmas Markets by public transport The Arndale has also released a special behind-the-scenes video of how Father Christmas’ helpers — in the requisite high-viz clothing — put up the display. It took them more than 30 hours over nights to install the displays, which feature thousands of LEDs.
He explained: “Whether you’re working, shopping, or celebrating, the Bee Network is right on your doorstep – helping to make public transport and active travel affordable and accessible to everyone in Greater Manchester. Public transport can often be cheaper and more convenient than travelling by car or taxi, including avoiding traffic and the hassle and cost of parking – not only helping to reduce your carbon footprint, but allowing time to relax and enjoy some leisure time on the way.
