Christmas markets are a perfect place to pick up gifts for loved ones or decorations as the big day approaches as well as to soak up the atmosphere with a glass of mulled wine.
This year a number of Christmas markets will be taking place across the UK - and beyond - and there are plenty to chose from. Whether you are after gifts for a loved one at your local market or simply heading along to try some tasty treats, there is something for everyone.
Edinburgh From November 27 until January 6, according to the Mirror, the capital will be transformed into a festive paradise for a month and a half as stall holders set up in East Princes Street Gardens, which is right next to the city's main railway station Waverley. Guests can enjoy everything from mulled Irn Bru to vegan pigs in blankets in what is bound to be an excellent festive representation of the city.More information can be found here.
Visitors will also be able to take in the massive Christmas tree, hand out at the ice bar or even have a go on the toboggan run. European Christmas markets - Copenhagen and Brussels If you want to venture outside of the UK, it seems the Danes do a very good trade in Christmas markets. While you're there the city's world-leading reputation for chips and waffles stacked in ice cream and chocolate is well worth indulging in. A cone of frites is best chowed down while following the Rene Magritte art trail, in which the experimental painter's works have been slapped up big into the buildings.
