'How anyone canquestion the ban when you consider what has happened to people is beyond me'
Yesterday, October 31, the government announced the exact date XL bully breed dogs will join the Pit Bull Terrier, the Japanese Tosa, the Dogo Argentino and the Fila Brasileiro on the list of dog breeds banned in the UK under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
Further rules will then come into force on February 1, 2024. From this later date it will then become illegal to own an XL bully if it is not registered on the Index of Exempted Dogs. By staggering these two dates, current owners of this breed will have time to prepare for these new rules, Government bosses have said.
On Facebook, ECHO reader Danny Urmstom said: "As an XL owner I totally agree with these laws and will comply. Let's hope the irresponsible owners are found out."
