Scarlett Lee, who first hit screens on The X Factor, looked unrecognisable as she reunited with Dermot O'Leary on This Morning to discuss her recent American Idol audition
Six years after making it all the way to The X Factor final, where she lost to eventual champion Dalton Harris, singer Scarlett Lee thought she'd give American Idol a try - and she's been successful so far.
Dermot, who now hosts This Morning, gushed over reuniting with Scarlett and his co-host Josie Gibson described how it looked like they must have been "a family back then." Instead of wearing her hair in her iconic big bouffant style, the star wore her brunette locks in a naturally wavy do'. She also appeared to have ditched the layers of fake tan she opted for during her X Factor days.
To which Scarlett added: "Still are!", she continued: "You take those friends with you for life. You don't get to see them all the time but when you do, the emotions... I'm so overwhelmed as Dermot is such a big part of our household. My mum and dad love him, there's pictures of him everywhere. Honestly, it's like the Hall of Fame of Dermot!"
"It was absolutely incredible, but with that comes the downside. I had to deal with online trolls and 'oh, she looks like this,' body image, it was just a lot to deal with. So I had a long battle with anxiety and depression and that's why I didn't do music for some time."
