The WPYW “was set up to produce an alternative youth platform with its own niche and to organise national, political, grassroots, social and community activities to increase awareness among youths,” reads the WP website.
Interestingly, Aljunied GRC MP Leon Perera served as head of the party’s Youth Wing some years back.
He went on to serve as a Non-Constituency Member for the 13th Parliament of Singapore from 2015 to 2020, as the WP team had been the best-performing opposition team in GE2015 at East Coast GRC, where Ms Seah has also been active over the past few years.
