Construction work has started on a 53-home development in Foxgrove Path, South Oxhey.
Work has started on an"affordable" 53-home development in South Oxhey which received numerous objections.It will have eight one-bed flats, 28 two-bed houses, 15 three-bed and two four-bed houses, which will each have a garden as well as access to a central green space with a play area.
Developer Watford Community Housing said the scheme would provide "much-needed affordable housing" for the area as 36 properties will be shared ownership and 17 will be let under affordable rates via Three Rivers District Council.WCH responded to objections to previous plans by including a five-metre buffer to protect the neighbouring Prestwick Road Meadows Local Nature Reserve.
The 60-year-old carer said there were “hardly any cars” when she first moved to the area 22 years ago, but warned: “There’s only one road in and it’s going to be horrific when it’s done.We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues.
