A woman has been shot by police after reportedly making threats to blow herself up and shouting "Allahu akbar" on a train.
She is said to have shouted "Allahu akbar", which is Arabic for "God is the Greatest". A source said: "Fearing for their safety, the police opened fire around 9:20 a.m. She was then injured in the stomach and evacuated immediately." Police said a Metro and suburban train station that serves the Francois Mitterrand national library in eastern Paris has been evacuated, and officers were photographed at the entrance to the transport hub.
He said: "The person was extremely determined to take action and given the determination, my colleagues had no other choice, to avoid being hit by an explosion, than to neutralise her by shooting her with a firearm."
