The woman said she 'had nothing left to live for' after being punched by her ex
A man punched his ex-girlfriend in the face and ran away just hours after trying to rekindle his relationship with her.
At Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, prosecutor Carmel Wilde said: "She was seen sat in the middle of Scotland Road, shouting for Peter and shouting at a passer-by 'my ex battered me'." The passer-by tried to help, but the woman became verbally abusive and "sat in the middle of the road in an effort to kill herself as 'she had nothing to live for'."
In a victim statement, the woman said: "I'm constantly anxious and scared to go out on my own, as when I'm out on my own Peter has come out of nowhere. I have vivid dreams of Peter on top of me with his hands around my neck, saying he's going to kill me. I don't feel like myself any more."
