A man has been charged by police investigating the murder of Irish woman Tina Satchwell who went missing more than six years ago. It comes after officers discovered skeletal remains buried beneath a home in Youghal, Co Cork, earlier this week. It is understood police are now satisfied the remains are those of Ms Satchwell. The man, aged in his 50s, was arrested following the discovery.
On Tuesday, a major police search took place at the property - with the remains found a day later, according to the Irish police service An Garda Siochana. The remains were taken to Cork University Hospital, where they were examined and underwent DNA analysis. A digger and other heavy machinery were used during the search of the house.
