⚠️ Upgraded weather warning for Lancashire
The Met Office is warning of likely power cuts, rail cancellation and stranded vehicles with snow set to batter East Lancashire.
Areas including Burnley and Bacup are included in an Amber weather warning covering Thursday and Friday with temperatures set to drop below zero. The forecaster says: "Heavy snow is likely to cause significant disruption on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning"READ MORE: Burnley thug launched violent attack on dad in front of his two children
Meanwhile, almost all of the rest of the county has been issued with a less severe yellow warning for snow over the same two days. That warning states that "heavy snow has the potential to cause disruption on Thursday and Friday". The Met Office says power cuts are possible as are delays on the road and cancellation to rail services. The warning area excludes parts of Blackpool, Thornton and Fleetwood along the coast but those areas can still expect temperatures as low as 1C.
