Motorists are being warned over a little-known rule that could see them hit with £300 fines this Bonfire Night.
While many people will buy, use, or watch fireworks this weekend and have a great time, it is important to know the rules about carrying fireworks in your vehicle. And car experts are warning drivers of a little-known rule they may break without realising. Ash Young, founder of CarMats.co.uk, told the ECHO: "It’s against the law for people in the UK to transport more than 50kg of fireworks unless they hold a valid licence to do so. There are also some other considerations for drivers when it comes to fireworks. Here is how you can keep yourself and others safe:Some pre packed boxes of fireworks will already be packed into spark resistant boxes, but loose fireworks won’t. Therefore, it’s important to put these lidded, plastic container.When you’re transporting fireworks in your car, avoid lighting up a cigarette at the wheel.
