Burnley owner Alan Pace met with Bayern Munich representatives on Wednesday night to discuss a compensation package for Vincent Kompany,There is confidence on all sides an agreement will be reached for the Belgian to join the Bundesliga giants after they have endured a challenging campaign.
Kompany is now in pole position to become the new Bayern manager, with negotiations ongoing to release him from his contract, which is set to run until 2028.Kompany’s stock has remained high over the past year despite Burnley’s relegation to the Championship. But his side were unable to kick on and ended the most reason season with just 24 points – eight points behind fourth-bottom Nottingham Forest.
