Toreros won 21 games in his first season but tailed off last three years
The moveafter the Toreros on Friday finished the season 15-16, their third straight losing campaign.
Before the West Coast Conference Tournament, Scholl said he had one year remaining on his contract. According to USD’s 2019 federal tax return, the most recent one available, Scholl made $481,280 in total compensation that year. His salary was third most at the university, behind Harris, the university president, and Provost Gail Baker McCarthy.
The Toreros were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament and Scholl was seen as the steadying force as the team won two games before losing in the quarterfinals.Twelve days after the season ended Scholl was named head coach. This year’s DI transfers made a much more significant contribution than last year’s. The team’s top three scorers — Marcellus Earlington , Jase Townsend and Terrell Brown-Soares — were first-year transfers.
