Dr. Rodger Morrison now has a copyright for a tokenization regarding artificial intelligence.
Business professor TROY, Ala. - A Troy business professor has become the first to copyright his distinctive creative writing style.“Tokenization” refers to the process of converting the text you put into things like ChatGPT into something smaller like tokens or subwords.
The tokens are used to then train AI to emulate specific styles to replicate the creative works of people to create things like poems. Morrison figured out how to create a tokenization for his unique writing style displayed in a book he wrote in 2002 calledHe was awarded a copyright in March for that style, making this a huge advancement for other creators to protect their intellectual property rights within the evolving world of artificial intelligence.
”If you can protect the style of your work, then no one can replicate your work which makes the work that you create much more valuable. Again, it could be text, audio samples, or anything. Protect that, now I have peace of mind. I can protect my work, I am who I am and I may be a horrible writer, but I am a protected horrible writer,” Morrison, a professor of strategy at the Sorrel College of Business, said.
