Emergency crews rushed to Renfield Street in the town at around 3am on Monday, October 30, following reports that a man had been found injured in a common close. Tragically, Alastair, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene with police describing the death a 'suspicious.'
Forensic Teams had been seen scouring a Renfrew street hours after the 52-year-old was found dead yesterday. Local residents told Glasgow Live that they woke up in the middle of the night to shouting before discovering what appeared to be trail of blood. A local woman added: "The guy that died is local, he doesn't live far from where the body was found. I never knew him well, but he was a nice enough guy. You don't expect this sort of thing to happen on your doorstep."Tributes have now been paid to Alastair, who has been described as a 'gentle giant.'
Another added: "Miss you big guy. You were well loved by so many for the gentle big soul you were. RIP, Alistair you wont be forgotten."A fourth wrote: "Rest in peace mate."
