Ian Yates had been the carer for his mum and dad but after they died he admitted he felt 'hopeless'
A man who developed a drink problem after the deaths of his beloved parents was found dead at his home surrounded by empty bottles of alcohol.
On May 20 of this year Ian's sister Heather, who he was very close to, had gone round to his home in St Helen's Road as she hadn't heard from him for some time. When she was unable to get a response she called police who forced entry. "He forced entry at the rear door and located Mr Yates in an upstairs bedroom lying on the bed. All the windows and doors were locked and there were no injuries on Mr Yates' body."
