The former Saints captain is returning to Paisley once again to work with the club's young prospects.
Tony Fitzpatrick believes St Mirren’s academy players couldn’t wish for a better role model than Stephen McGinn.
Now Falkirk club captain, 34-year-old McGinn is taking his first steps into coaching after agreeing a part-time role to help oversee St Mirren’s Under-16s side. “I have no doubt he’ll pass on that grit and sheer determination to do whatever it takes to help the team. “He signed for us for a lot less money than he could have got elsewhere because he loved the Saints and wanted to see them back in the Premiership.
McGinn will help fill the gap in the academy team left by Andy Webster, who moved away from St Mirren to become Hearts academy manager in July.
