Horrifying CCTV footage has been uncovered that shows the moment a teenage boy screamed "give me the keys" to an Audi during an attempted robbery that killed a grandmother.
Prosecutor Matthew Bean told Leeds Crown Court on Friday that Hanrahan - who was joined by his cousin, Samuel Hanrahan, 20 - then demanded the keys to an Audi RS3 belonging to Emmie's brother. The court heard on Friday that Emmie called the police during the attempted robbery, in which Jerry Hanrahan smashed a window with the screwdriver. The 999 call was played, and at the end, she could be heard asking for an ambulance for mother-of-six Nhi.
Recorder of Leeds, Judge Guy Kearl KC told the Hanrahans: "Medical evidence agrees the bleed on the brain was caused by the fear and distress caused by your actions. It came about after a significant rise in her blood pressure."
