"This is one easy way to change that."What the Middle Tennessee community has endured since the beginning of March has been significant.Just as thousands of volunteers across Nashville rallied in support of storm cleanup and recovery, theThe city entered the pandemic already worried, fatigued and in need of each other’s support in the most significant ways.

The first request she received came from an 87-year-old man who has to get dialysis three times a week. He worried about being in public without protection, but couldn't buy any masks.Then there was a mother-to-be – 6-months pregnant and with weak lung function – who feared going to the laundromat."I wish there was something like this in every city, so we can save people's lives," Smith said.

On Tuesday afternoon, Rachel Rail, a 32-year old who lived nearby, went to Office Max and Lowe's to pick up printer ink and plywood for the family. "I'm in banking," she said. "I can't build a house and I am not a doctor, so I can’t help anything like that. But I can do this."
