The best UK airport terminals for short queues and good shops An airport with no shops or decent restaurants, and long queues, is enough to put anyone in a bad mood at the start of their holiday. After all, the trip begins when you step foot in the airport terminal and head straight to the Wetherspoons for a pre-flight drink. Back in 2019, Southampton was presented the Airport of the Year award by the European Regional Airlines Association for services to the local community and reducing their carbon footprint. Third on the list is Bournemouth with an overall ranking of 6.81 out of 10. It received a customer score of 75%, although it’s queuing time began to get a little long – particularly at passport control.
