Bargains are to be had at car boot sales - and more people are also turning to them to sell off their own pre-loved items
Whether you’re looking to sell off your pre-loved items or on the hunt for some vintage gems to transform your home, car boot sales are becoming more popular than ever and a perfect place to visit on a weekend if you're after a shopping haul.
We’ve rounded up some of the very best car boots here in the city-region and within an hour’s drive away which could help you grab yourself a bargain. As always, it’s worth checking with the organisers before you head out as sometimes events may be pulled or rescheduled at short notice. Sellers at the Sunday car boot will pay £14 for cars or £20 for vans from 5.30am, whilst buyers pay £1 per car from 7am. On Wednesday, sellers pay £10 regardless of vehicle from 10am and entry is £1 for buyers from 11am. More details here.Rummage In The Range The Carlton Club in Whalley Range hosts its very own car boot sale packed with bargains on the first Saturday of every month.
Bowlee Car Boot Sale and Market Over in Rochdale is the Bowlee Car Boot Sale and Market, which takes place from April to August each year. With more than 400 spaces available, there are plenty of bargains to be found and once again, it’s pet-friendly and has catering, loos and children’s rides on site. More info here.Rixton Car Boot There is another car boot to be found in Rixton in Warrington, which is about a 45-minute drive away from Manchester city centre.
Taking place on Sunday throughout the year, pitches cost £10 for a car and £15 for vans - with sellers allowed to enter from 9am. Described as Blackburn's bigest car boot sale, there's also kids rides on site and food and drinks stalls. Admission is £1 for adults from 10am until 1pm. Details here.Oldham Rugby Union The Oldham Rugby Football Club hosts a car boot every Sunday from 6am at Manor Park - and it's usually a popular spot.
