Motorists were hit by huge waves in Douglas, Isle of Man, on Sunday as Storm Kathleen made its way through the British Isles. Video from the capital of the British Crown dependency showed traffic on the Douglas Promenade coastal road caught in the overtopping waves.

Storn Kathleen has been rocking Britain since Thursday and forecasters expect 70mph winds, ‘blood rain’ and floods in the coming days. The alarming-sounding weather phenomenon is when rain looks red or brown, due to red-coloured dust or particles mixed into the water, often from the Sahara.
Three new yellow weather warnings will come into force tomorrow. They include one for rain in central Scotland from 1am to 6pm, with the country likely seeing up to three inches of rainfall. The north and west of England will take up to two inches. A second yellow alert for wind across the western coast of England is in effect from 1am to 3pm, with 65mph gusts expected for exposed coasts of southwest and West Wales.

Yellow weather warning issued as Storm Kathleen brings heavy rainfall to ScotlandThe Met Office has issued another yellow weather warning for heavy rainfall as Storm Kathleen batters the country.
