'A lot of parents have said to me ‘my 9-year-old wouldn’t do it’ but he did it with me.'
A 'SPECIAL' Bellshill boy has raised more than £800 for a cancer charity in support of his mum after her diagnosis.
The 51-year-old was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in May last year and has been looked after by Beatson West ofLesley Ann said: “It was a rocky path at the start and I spent a lot of time in the hospital, but I’m by the worst part and just plodding on now. Speaking about his efforts, Sonny said:"I took part because my mum has cancer and we wanted to do something for the Beatson because they’re helping us a lot.“It was a really big event and very special. I was really happy to complete it.”
She said: “A lot of parents have said to me ‘my nine-year-old wouldn’t do it’ but he did it with me and the main thing is we completed it together. It’ll be a memory that he’ll carry on.
