Pennslyvania's governor said Comperatore was a firefighter and a father.
The man who died at the rally has been identified as Corey Comperatore, a resident of Pennsylvania, by Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro at a press conference Sunday. Shapiro praised Comperatore for his character as a father and member of the Pennsylvanian community. “We lost a fellow Pennsylvanian last night,” Shapiro said. “Corey was a girl dad, Corey was a firefighter, Corey went to church every Sunday, Corey loved his community, and most especially, Corey loved his family.
” “Corey was the very best of us,” Shapiro said. “May his memory be a blessing.' Shapiro’s office also announced that he was ordering the U.S. and state flag at government buildings and public grounds to half-staff to “recognize the tragedy that occurred at a rally for former President Trump in Butler County last evening and in honor of Corey Comperatore.” Shapiro didn’t take further questions regarding the investigation. However, he called for peace across party lines.
