Sources say the development is the best officers could have hoped for after colleagues sent a report to prosecutors.
Prosecutors have dropped a criminal case against three Police Scotland officers accused of public indecency - after they were secretly filmed playing a consensual game of strip poker.
The officers had not consented to having their consensual game recorded or shared with others, and filming and distributing videos of people in intimate situations, without their consent, are both criminal offences. The officers, who were redeployed in the aftermath, being sent to Dunoon and Lochgilphead, and had the threat of a criminal trial and losing their jobs if found guilty hanging over their heads.
"The Crown reserves the right to proceed in the future should further evidence become available." The development comes 28 months after the incident took place. Body found in search for missing Scots dad Daniel FraserA body has been found in the search for missing Scots dad Daniel Fraser. Officers from Police Scotland launched a frantic search to trace the 35-year-old from Drylaw, Edinburgh, after he was last seen on January 7. A body was discovered in the water at Musselburgh Lagoons on Sunday, February 11. Police say formal identification is yet to take place, but Daniel's family have been made aware.
