Senator Dave Cortese had called on Kremen to immediately resign from his political and governmental seats, and to end his current campaign.
Tech entrepreneur and Santa Clara County assessor candidate Gary Kremen, who is also the founder of Match.com, is pulling out of the race following an accusation that he sent semi-nude pictures of himself and his longtime partner to a former staffer via DropBox.told San José Spotlight
Kremen, who also serves as the chair of the board of directors for the Santa Clara Valley Water District, did not immediately respond to a phone interview request from the Bay Area News Group. “I am saddened and shocked to hear this public account of Mr. Kremen that was made today by his former staff member,” Cortese wrote in an emailed statement. “I’d like to express my gratitude for the individual who courageously shared what they lived through; facing this type of mistreatment is something no one should have to endure, whether it be in a workplace setting or elsewhere.
Kremen told a San José Spotlight reporter he uploaded more than 20,000 photos to the Dropbox, and didn’t check whether any intimate ones were included. He said his partner was breastfeeding their son at the time, and the photos appeared to have been taken in bed shortly before or after the feeding. There is no child pictured in the images, according to Spotlight. He and Stone told the reporter the photos are not sexual in nature.
