Midweek results have left Glencairn needing help from other sides
Rutherglen Glencairn boss Joe Pryce admits his side are now outsiders in the West of Scotland First Division promotion race – but while there’s a glimmer of hope, they’ll keep fighting.
Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Shotts left Glencairn fifth on 47 points with two remaining fixtures, and midweek fixtures moved John McKeown's side into third, five points above Rutherglen, and with a game in hand. “It’s still arithmetically possible, but every single result is going to have to go our way for that to happen, so we’ll just look to finish with as many points as we possibly can, as high up the league as we can, and try to finish the season properly.
