It was badly affected by last week's stormy weather
The River Island store in Stockport is currently closed after being badly flooded. Shoppers found that the branch in the Merseyway Shopping Centre in the town centre had suddenly closed its doors last week.
The Manchester Evening News has been told the closure of the store is only a temporary one. It suffered 'severe' flooding during last week's heavy rainfall. Contractors have been called in and are currently working on the premises. It is hoped it will re-open by the weekend if not before. River Island declined to comment.
