The Duke Street venue is celebrating its 20th birthday this year
It goes without saying that good food is key to any meal out, but those preparing it don't often get a starring role. That is different at Sapporo Teppanyaki.
The restaurant's success on Duke Street led to the opening of sites in Manchester and then Glasgow. The flagship Liverpool venue turns 20 this month and will be hosting a month of celebratory events to mark the milestone. "Throughout the whole day I'm keeping busy, seeing different things, meeting different people, the guests coming in and enjoying themselves. I think it's really nice to be part of it.
She said: "With the guests, I remember people who came in and sat on high chairs as kids. Now they are teenagers and they're still here.
