Roti is bringing its Scottish-Indian fusion to Ancoats
A Scottish-Indian restaurant beloved for its haggis pakoras and Irn-Bru Negrons is heading to one of Manchester's oldest pubs.
Edinburgh-born owner Ryan Singh already has two branches of Roti - at the Stanley Square development in Sale as well as in Flixton Road, Urmston - where its quirky dishes blending the dual heritages have delighted diners. While there are recognisable favourites like a tarka daal and samosa chaat, Roti's dishes also include the haggis pakora, ‘mince & tatties’ , and ‘wee poori parcels’, crisp, hollowed puris filled with yoghurt, chilli, tamarind chutney and masala spices.
There are also a selection of cocktails, IPAs, and for pudding, the spot’s take on the famous Scottish chip shop pudding, the deep fried Mars bar, with ice cream. Roti previously had a site in Chorlton before it closed in January of last year.
