The witness walk began at the Hadee Mosque on Division Street in Harrisburg.
Today is Gun Violence Awareness and Prevention Day. It's an annual event in Harrisburg where faith groups come together to honor those lost to gun violence and seek solutions to save others. The Harrisburg chapter of Heeding God's Call to End Gun Violence also hosted a memorial to the mosque. The memorial has 94 shirts each with a person's name that lost their life to gun violence.
'I would like to be able to hug family members as opposed to go into grave sites and you know memorials and things like that it's this ugly cycle that needs to stop,” said Helen Jackson, who lost two family members to gun violence.Event organizers said the names of the victims at the interfaith celebration to honor their lives. This event also served as a call to action to take gun violence more seriously.
