As local groups and community members were leaving a gathering at the Capitol steps Friday in support of Palestine and the conflict in Gaza, police say a suspect in a black SUV pulled up and pointed a weapon at protestors.
CBS 21 News was on the scene covering the event and watched the tense moment unravel as our cameras were rolling. Mona Rahman, a rally attendee, spoke to CBS 21 about why he was attending the event before any signs of trouble emerged: We're here to speak up for those people because they are being silenced, they are being accused of things they're not doing and it's all in the hands of a terrorism called Hamas that is not even Palestinian.
We asked for a response from the local Jewish community tonight. The President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg says that he does not have a problem with a peaceful protest but rather the message behind it.
