'Probably better behaved than most human customers': Readers react to dogs being allowed on trams
Dogs are looking set to be allowed on Metrolink trams following recommendations from Transport for Greater Manchester bosses after a successful three month trial last year.

Bringing Manchester into the 21st century." This wasn't the only concern addressed, with another reader saying: "I'm a dog owner, and I always clean up after him on the streets/field, but I can't imagine the general public would be happy with the absolute STENCH that would flow through the carriage if he decided to do a number 2 on there."
TfGM have introduced new rules to help tackle concerns, making owners responsible for their dogs behaviour and any mess made, which would have to be cleared up and reported to the control room. Travellers are also being told to avoid bringing their dogs onto busy services.
