“The plan will help us deliver thousands of new homes while addressing a range of economic, environmental and social issues.”
Over £535m is expected to be invested in providing almost 6,500 new homes across Glasgow in the next five years.
To deliver the plan, the council will work alongside registered social landlords on new builds, acquiring homes and adaptations to existing social housing. Council officials reported the plan, for 2023/24 to 2027/28, is developed in consultation with housing associations, private developers, the voluntary sector and the city’s health and social care partnership.
A report stated the average works cost per square metre increased by 23% between 2020/21 and 2021/22.
