The book from season 1876-77 predated the Scottish league system and was issued four years after Rangers were formed.
A rare Rangers season book thought to be the oldest of its kind in the world has been snapped up for nearly £4000.
It included home and away fixtures against the likes of Queen’s Park, Third Lanark, Partick, Dumbreck, Lennox and Alexandra Athletics, as well as matches played by the club’s second 11. The season book went under the hammer at McTear’s in Glasgow, where it was sold to a private Scottish bidder for £3900.
