The review and repeal of EU laws is slowed due to MPs' focus on election-friendly policies, says the Business and Trade Secretary
“I think that if there is anything that is slowing things down, it is the attention of ministers to crises – and MPs as well as we’re in election year – on to things which are more retail electorally.” Last year, ministers said they would instead revoke around laws by the end of 2023 and is aiming to tackle another 500 this year.
