He’s doubled down on his claims that the government told him to slow down compensation payments to victims of the Horizon IT scandal – releasing a memo he wrote himself after the conversation.

Then at PMQs, Rishi Sunak sidestepped calls to repeat his Business Secretary’s allegations that Mr Staunton was lying, but the former chairman has been called to give evidence to MPs next week
