The Stables in Groomsport closed on November 5 after being run by Mark Beatty for the last three years, but is set to reopen in 2024 after refurbishment by the landlords and new custodians
The landlords of a popular restaurant in Northern Ireland which closed earlier this month have announced work is to begin on a refurbishment with a reopening date in 2024.
In a statement on their social media this week, Keith & Ian Carmichael said there had been "a whirlwind of activity" as they prepare to deliver their vision. Work on a refurbishment is set to start soon with an estimated opening date for the week beginning February 5 next year. "As the landlords of this cherished property and having engaged in heartfelt conversations with Mark over the past few weeks, it became evident that the time had come for him to transition from his role as the tenant at The Stables. Unfortunately, timing is never perfect, and we understand the challenges this transition has posed, particularly during the run-up to the festive season.
"In the coming weeks, we will keep you posted on our progress right here on this page. We envision The Stables as a place we will be immensely proud of, a destination that both the people of North Down and visitors from further afield will enjoy and frequent. "We would like to express our deep gratitude for your understanding of where we currently stand. We acknowledge that there's a lot of hard work ahead, but we are genuinely delighted to be back and eagerly anticipate the exciting journey that lies ahead.
