Neighbouring councillors have tried to block the development
Plans for more than 100 homes in a Nottinghamshire village will be considered as neighbouring councillors attempt to block the development. A planning application for 131 houses on farmland off Hayden Lane, Linby, will be examined by Gedling Borough Council's planning committee on Wednesday, October 18, with council officers advising the project should be approved.
Gedling Borough Council rejected this claim, arguing the Section 106 Agreement funding would improve transport, health and education services for Hucknall residents as well as those in Linby. Speaking when the plans came to light, a representative added the land's suitability for new housing had been supported by the government's Planning Inspectorate.
Forty of the properties are identified as being affordable of which 14 would be first homes and the remaining dwellings 26 would be available for affordable rent. Designs for the development show the homes have been placed around a central area of public open space, taking account of a loop road that would connect to Delia Avenue and Dorothy Avenue.
