The Light Blues have hit out in a club statement after the fixture was postponed at Dens Park late on.
Philippe Clement revealed it was the Rangers KITMAN who informed him over issues with Dundee's Dens Park surface.
Rangers also released a club statement expressing their anger over the situation and reiterated the points put across by Clement. As part of the hard-hitting words they say that the showdown being the only across the senior UK leagues to not go ahead this weekend, and given it was scheduled for live coverage, reflects poorly on the Scottish game.
"Secondly, I think it will be the only game in all the leagues in Scotland that will be postponed. That is a crazy situation. If you are playing in the Premiership that should be with the highest standards and best pitches. I think that is a logical thing because television pays a lot of money to broadcast it. Fans pay a lot of money to see games. This is the only game postponed. It is a really strange situation.
"It is not understood why the home club did not raise those concerns in a more timely manner, given the reoccurring issues they have had with their playing surface at earlier points in the season. The Rangers team and thousands of our supporters had already arrived at the stadium by the time a decision was reached. This is the only match in the entire UK senior leagues to be postponed this weekend, and given it was to be shown on Sky Sports nationwide, reflects poorly on our game.
