There have been claims that no parking tickets have been issued in the town for more than a decade
New parking restrictions are to be introduced in Coalisland as a result of legislation being introduced by the Department for Infrastructure.
The plans will also see the introduction of two loading bays on Main Street, as well as ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions. The move comes as a public consultation begins on the new parking restrictions, which were approved by Mid Ulster District Council last year following the completion of the Co Tyrone town’s public realm scheme.
While the legislation introduced by the Department says the restrictions will be brought into force in 2023 a spokesperson said no specific date has been decided for when they will begin.
